Leadership team

After qualifying as a Registered General Nurse in 1991, and working in elder care, amongst other areas, Maria became a Community Nurse (1997), before undertaking her BSc (Hons) in Advanced Healthcare Practice in 2005. She has studied subsequent MSc-level modules to qualify as a Community Matron, and extend her skills in management, and medical and nursing practice.

Maria is involved in the assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of service users with complex needs, ensuring that the staff with the right skill set are appropriately matched to each service user.

Luke has more than 12 years’ experience working with people with learning disabilities, and complex health needs, as well as people with life-limiting conditions and who need palliative care. He has a NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care and extensive training and knowledge within this specialist area. His role is to manage the LD team, including the staff who provide respite care, but he is often on the care team himself and enjoys delivering face to face care.

John ensures that the teams are supported with the appropriate funding and resourced with the best equipment for the work that they carry out. He oversees the company finances and HR function.

He has been working in business for over 15 years and has a background as a scientist.

Lindsey has worked with In Caring Hands since 2017, initially working with the domiciliary care team. She has since progressed within the company and now works closely with the management teams.

Care staff

The staff of In Caring Hands are what makes the difference between us and any other care agency. We pride ourselves on having the best staff, who are compassionate, and truly care about the people they are supporting. Our team members are all well-qualified, with additional training adding to the skills they need to carry out the work they do, which is often highly specialised.

We have different levels, within the team, who all deliver care:

Care co-ordinators (Team Leaders) manage and monitor teams of staff, undertaking supervisions, appraisals and regular meetings to ensure they have the resources/training they need to maintain the safety and well-being of our service users.

They undertake ongoing discussions as a keyworker, with appropriate professionals, clients and their families to ensure the care needs are being met, or updated when a client’s an individual’s needs have changed.

Senior carers monitor and amend client care plans/risk assessments on a day-to-day basis and are the point of communication for less experienced staff.

Carers look after our service users, undertaking the care provision required and provide them with some much-needed companionship and support.
