The Manager for the Learning Disability team is Luke Lawrence who has been working with young people with learning disabilities and complex medical needs for approximately 10 years, and has had experience in:

  • assessing individual’s needs
  • person centred care planning
  • medication administration
  • liaising with multiple professionals such as Diana nurses, Gastrostomy specialist, Diabetes specialist, Speech and language therapist, physiotherapists, Epilepsy specialists, social workers and commissioners
  • attending multidisciplinary team meetings and best interest meetings
  • managing a team
  • compiling rotas
  • organizing training,
  • ensuring competent staff are put with the right service users

Luke also has experience in caring for people with multiple life limiting conditions and palliative care. He has also had training in areas such as:

  • Gastrostomy
  • Jejunostomy
  • Tracheostomy
  • Epilepsy
  • VNS
  • Rescue Medication
  • C-Pap
  • Bi-Pap
  • Feed Pumps
  • Suctioning
  • Diabetes Management

He has attained his Level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care. Maria ensures that Luke has all the support necessary to carry out his role effectively.
