The bedrooms
Our 4-bedroom respite home for young adults with PMLD is exactly what you’d hope it to be. We have created a home-from-home atmosphere, with four themed rooms: Ocean, Safari, Mystical and Woodland.
Families are encouraged to send familiar items along, to help ensure familiarity.
Each bedroom has a hospital bed, pressure relieving mattress and ceiling hoist.
The group areas
There are TV/DVD players in all the rooms, and wireless film-streaming is available.
There are 2 bathrooms, which are equipped with raising/lowering baths, hoists, and ample space for two carers to support.
We have an open plan communal area where individuals have the choice of many activities including, watching TV/film, baking, listening to music, playing musical instruments, arts and crafts, sensory stories, atmospherics and therapy sessions.
We are currently developing our garden area, creating a versatile and exciting space, with plenty of sensory stimulation for your guests.
Our staff and activities
Our staff are highly trained and experienced, and build relationships with our regular service users, getting to know them and their likes and dislikes, and personalities, as well as their care needs.
There is always something going on, whether baking, or craft activities in the home, or an excursion.
